Rachel Turuc

A graduate of Northern Illinois University, Rachel has training in individual, couples, and family therapy.  She has experience working with a variety of populations and presenting problems.  In her spare time Rachel enjoys exercising, baking, spending quality time with her friends and family, and of course snuggling on the couch with her two dogs.


Rachel’s therapeutic approach emphasizes emotional expression, building connections, finding support, validating emotions, and creating healthy and effective interactional patterns. She believes that it is critical for everyone to have a safe place to share and process through experiences, problems, and feelings. Rachel meets clients where they are at and focuses on helping each person to become their best self, as well as to create healthier relationships in life. Rachel takes a collaborative approach and partners with clients to reach their unique goals. She strives to empower each person to uncover and utilize their own strengths and accomplishments and to become experts in navigating their own lives.

Rachel’s Personality

Rachel is warm, nurturing, and goofy at times.  She is honest, realistic, and an animal-lover. Being the go-to person for relationship advice with friends and family, she naturally developed passion for helping others. She would like to help you too.  Rachel is a natural, kind listener and a voice of reason.   Since childhood, she has had natural curiosity about people.  She was always trying to understand individuals, relationships, and families, in addition to how these affect our well-being and functioning.  This ultimately led her to pursue her career in therapy. Rachel is incredibly easy to talk to and provides a calm, comfortable, and nonjudgmental environment.  She will provide expert guidance and make sure you feel heard and valued.  Rachel would be honored to be your ally and advocate throughout your services.
