Approaches:

Leslie identifies with Person-Centered approach, which views the relationship between the counselor and client as one of the most important agents of change in the counseling process. Leslie views the counseling process as a journey together, where you are the expert on yourself and your experiences. Through reflection, the process of trusting oneself, and a counselor who listens without judgement, you can start the process of healing. Leslie also practices from a Multicultural lens, which puts an emphasis on our own identities and how these interplay with struggles, set-backs, and benefits. Additionally, Leslie uses elements of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), as well as interventions and approaches derived from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).

Personality:

Leslie is described as “Relaxed, peaceful, and tranquil”. Her authenticity and kindness are unmatched. Others have said she has a “calming presence” and is a “breath of fresh air.” After years of experience and extensive education, it is certain that Leslie has superior expertise and talent. Just like everyone, she has encountered her own challenges, which makes her even more intuitive and skillful. Coming to counseling for the first time can feel uncertain and strange, but Leslie will make it pleasant and help you feel comfortable in the counseling space. In appointments, you will feel valued, important, and heard, which are basic human needs! Set aside your hesitations, because Leslie is so worth trying an appointment with!
