John has worked with a variety of populations including individuals, couples, special-needs, and addiction counseling and has received training in person-centered therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, reality therapy, and more. As the son of a former police officer, John had a strong moral foundation instilled in him from a young age which serves him well in his approach to counseling. In his spare time, John enjoys engaging with nature, exercise, and playing the occasional video game.


John’s approach to counseling is focused on helping clients to work and establish healthy relationships in their lives, as well as to have a healthier relationship with themselves. John believes in a strength-based approach and wants to help individuals identify their best qualities and use these to their fullest advantage. To this end, John utilizes a variety of therapeutic techniques that begins with establishing a strong therapeutic relationship with the client. John became a counselor to meet clients where they are at and help them to get to where they want to be, no matter what that may look like for each individual client.

John’s Personality

John has been described as a “highly relaxed, light-hearted, and charming guy”. He has also been described as “incredibly easy to talk to”. He creates an environment of comfort and relaxation for you. John believes strongly that the therapeutic process can’t begin without a foundation of mutual trust and communication between counselor and client. He works to foster a strong relationship first and foremost. John’s not afraid to get goofy and values the use of humor in his work. John entered the field because he cares strongly for others and wants to serve his community as best as he can. John won’t judge you no matter what you bring to the table, as you are a human being who deserves respect.
