Approaches

Emma uses a variety of approaches to best suit individual needs. She uses a person-centered and strengths-based application with each client. Also, cognitive-behavioral therapy and dialectical behavioral therapy are used in her practice. Emma helps clients connect their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors to better understand challenges and patterns, both within themselves and with others, that will lead to meaningful change. When working with children and teens, Emma uses prescriptive play therapy approaches to help teach emotional skills, relax clients, and promote positive self-expression.

Emma’s Personality

Emma has a calm, sweet, gentle personality. She loves to get to know her clients and make them smile, laugh, and relax. Emma has a very unassuming, but direct, conversational style that helps clients feel at ease and open during appointments. She believes in unconditional positive regard which means that clients, including their lives and decisions, are not to be judged. Her goal is to help clients gain more skills and a greater perspective to get through whatever challenge they may be facing today or tomorrow.
