Emily Palmer, MSW, LSW

Emily brings experience providing mental health and substance use services in both inpatient and outpatient settings. She has worked with individuals across the lifespan and is passionate about helping clients navigate life’s challenges, build resilience, and develop skills that support meaningful growth and change. Her clinical background includes supporting individuals experiencing mental health concerns, substance use challenges, emotional regulation difficulties, and various life transitions. Outside of her professional work, Emily enjoys spending time with her two children and her Sphynx cat. She values the meaningful connections in her life and appreciates the everyday moments that bring joy, laughter, and perspective.

Approaches

Emily uses an integrative approach, drawing from a variety of therapeutic methods to best support each client’s unique needs, experiences, and goals. She uses research-based approaches such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing, Interpersonal Therapy, and others. She will help you better understand patterns in your thoughts, emotions, behaviors, beliefs, and relationships; build practical coping and communication skills; increase acceptance and flexibility; and make changes that align with your goals and values. She will work collaboratively with you to choose strategies that fit your needs and are most helpful at a given time. Emily believes therapy is a united process built on trust, compassion, and authenticity. She strives to create a safe and supportive environment where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered.

Emily is compassionate, approachable, and dedicated to helping others feel understood and supported. She has a down-to-earth and genuine personality.  Her experiences in the mental health and substance use fields have strengthened her belief in the importance of meeting people where they are and recognizing the resilience each person brings to their healing journey. Emily values genuine communication and strives to bring warmth, empathy, and acceptance to every interaction.
