Angelica Barnes

Angelica (she/hers) has experience in disability case management and counseling in a variety of settings. She is excited to tailor her clinical focus in behavioral health by providing evidence-based practices. As a counselor, Angelica’s goal is to provide support and therapeutic tools to help clients on their wellness journey. She is wholeheartedly invested in continued learning, in order to provide high quality counseling services to her clients. In her spare time, Angelica enjoys spending quality time with her husband and daughter. She is a fan of all things serene, such as candles, spa days, or being wrapped in a blanket with coffee or tea in hand; no matter the season!

Angelica creates a therapeutic environment that is open and nonjudgmental. She is focused solely on you and allows you to be your most authentic self. She is formally trained in Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectal Behavior Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy. In conjunction with formal training in therapeutic modalities, she likes to explore growth and healing through breathing exercises, guided meditation, writing, and movement. Angelica is determined to have you leaving each session with hope. She is notorious for saying, “If you do not have any hope, borrow some of mine.”

Angelica’s Personality

Angelica’s personality is caring, sincere, and honest. Her passion for work is evident in your therapeutic relationship with her. Angelica believes being a counselor is not just a “job” for her, but is more so, a calling. Angelica is humbled that she has the opportunity to help others in tough and unsure moments. Angelica believes everyone should be listened to with respect and compassion. She is eager to walk beside clients as they explore, question, conquer, and manage different facets in life. Angelica wants you to know that you are not alone in your thoughts, actions, and/or questions. She will help you speak your truth and walk confidently and peacefully into your path of wellness.
