Lori is a single mother of two teenagers, three beagles, and one Jack Russell Terrier, as well as intermittent foster dogs. Originally from the Chicago area, she attended Northern Illinois University in DeKalb. Lori has more than 10 years of experience with counseling in a variety of settings, including home based and crisis therapy.
Lori also has experience in the corporate world as a Human Resources Manager. Lori is fortified with a great sense of humor and resilience.
Lori believes the therapy process benefits everyone who invests in it and that the “answers” to life issues resides within us. Through guidance, successful therapy reveals inner strengths and removes obstacles to growth. Lori uses Solution Focused, Family Systems, Cognitive Behavioral, Acceptance and Commitment, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and many others. However, since people are unique, expect your therapy experience to be unique as well.

Lori works with children ages eight and older, adults, couples, and families. She is experienced in trauma, grief, depression, anxiety, self-esteem, relationships, stress, work related concerns, adjustment issues and much more.

Lori will work as hard as you do to resolve problems and reveal solutions to life issues. Therapy will be a partnership or collaborative process from beginning to end. You are free to vent, cry, and laugh as you relate your story and explain your concerns.
